Expansion Energy has developed innovative technologies and techniques to substantially improve the storage and transport capacity of existing (and new) natural gas pipelines and terminals. These proprietary technologies yield significant increases in the Return on Investment of existing pipeline and storage assets, with very low additional capital cost, including by using a dense form of natural gas that Expansion Energy calls "CCNG(TM)" (cold compressed natural gas). Revenues (through expanded transport and storage capacities) are substantially increased, while operating costs (on a per-unit basis) typically fall. These solutions are ideal for owners of natural gas pipelines and storage terminals, including utilities/LDCs and owners of merchant facilities.
Expansion Energy licenses its suite of Metacritical(TM) technologies -- including CCNG(TM) production -- which have been developed under a rigorous R&D/innovation program.
The Gas Technology Institute (GTI) commissioned Expansion Energy to compile a report on the utilization of Expansion Energy's proprietary CCNG(TM) technologies and techniques for natural gas utilities in the western U.S. region (and beyond). Expansion Energy's CCNG(TM) solutions were included in a package of recommendations to several utilities and quasi-government authorities for meeting future gas demand growth, while simultaneously allowing the deferral of capital expenditure. The report is available for download here.
